Trigalight

INSERTS

ENGINEERED FOR DIRECT INSTALLATION INTO IRON SIGHTS.

A trigalight insert is a self-powered light source pre-assembled into a protective sleeve, ready for direct installation into the iron sights of pistols, rifles and tactical firearms. The insert format removes the need for adhesive, complex assembly or specialist tooling on the part of the sight manufacturer — the trigalight arrives pre-protected, pre-aligned, and ready to press or snap into position.

All inserts share the same fundamental performance: self-powered illumination for 10+ years, no batteries, no maintenance, no external energy source. They differ in sleeve material, daytime visibility features, installation method and protective characteristics — each optimised for a different manufacturing context and end-user requirement.

We produce inserts to customer and application-specific tolerances. The selection below covers our standard range. If your sight geometry requires a custom format, we will develop it with you.

YOUR OEM PARTNER FOR TRITIUM NIGHT SIGHT INSERT SUPPLY AND DEVELOPMENT

trigalight® night sight inserts are manufactured exclusively for B2B supply to sight manufacturers, firearms producers and tactical equipment integrators. We do not supply inserts to gunsmiths, dealers or end users for aftermarket fitting. Every insert format we produce — whether standard or custom — is developed and validated for a specific sight housing geometry and a specific production process.

For sight manufacturers considering trigalight® for a new or existing product line, we offer a structured evaluation process: we provide sample inserts in the formats most relevant to your housing geometry, support the engineering integration, advise on NUREG and national regulatory compliance, and move to series supply once your design is approved. Custom insert formats — outer diameter, sleeve material, lens type, day ring colour — are developed on request for platforms where no standard format applies.

TACTICAL INSERT

ALUMINIUM PRECISION. SAPPHIRE PROTECTION.

The Tactical Insert is the original trigalight insert format — the product on which generations of professional night sights have been built. The trigalight GTLS is protected in a machined aluminium sleeve with a flush sapphire glass front. This combination of aluminium housing and sapphire protection delivers exceptional mechanical durability, making it the choice for professional and military-grade iron sights where failure is not an option.

Two variants are available: the standard Tactical Insert with flush sapphire glass, and the Tactical PRO Insert with convex sapphire glass, which concentrates the emitted light for up to double the apparent brightness at the same tritium activity level.

Variants

Standard: Aluminium sleeve, flush sapphire glass. The sleeve shoulder can be painted for daytime colour visibility. Available with flush or protruding sapphire glass.
PRO: Aluminium sleeve, convex sapphire glass. The convex lens concentrates forward-emitted light, delivering approximately double the brightness compared to the standard variant at identical activity levels. Preferred for applications demanding maximum night visibility.

Specifications

Outer diameter: 1.00 mm to 1.88 mm. Sapphire crystal diameter: 0.80 mm to 1.60 mm, with oversize of 0.00 mm to 0.50 mm. Standard lengths: 4.00 mm to 7.00 mm. Round cross-section. Shock- and temperature-resistant from −55°C to +120°C (−67°F to +250°F). NUREG tested.

Colours

Standard colour: green. Yellow, orange and red also available as standard. Custom colours on request. The aluminium sleeve shoulder is paintable for daytime colour identification.

NGI

NEXT GENERATION INSERTS — POLYMER PRECISION WITH SAPPHIRE PROTECTION.

The NGI (Next Generation Insert) brings the performance of a sapphire-protected insert into a temperature- and solvent-resistant polymer sleeve. The coloured polymer sleeve provides a visible colour ring when installed, offering clear daytime identification without requiring any painting or additional surface treatment. Like the Tactical Insert, the NGI allows quick direct assembly into iron sights.

The NGI is the preferred format for manufacturers who need reliable daytime colour visibility alongside full night performance, within a cost-efficient polymer construction.

Daytime Visibility

The polymer sleeve is available in five colours — black, white, green, orange and red — each producing a clearly visible colour ring when the insert is seated in the sight housing. This daytime ring allows shooters to identify and differentiate sights by colour without any additional manufacturing step. The trigalight light source is offered in green as standard.

Specifications

Outer diameter: 1.96 mm. Length: 4.50 mm. Round cross-section. Temperature- and solvent-resistant polymer sleeve with sapphire protection glass. Shock- and temperature-resistant from −55°C to +120°C. NUREG tested. Direct installation — no adhesive required.

Colours

Sleeve colours: black, white, green, orange, red. Light source colour: green as standard. Custom light source colours available on request for specific sight identification requirements.

FPI

FULL POLYMER INSERT — COMPLETE PROTECTION IN ONE PIECE.

The FPI (Full Polymer Insert) is the fully enclosed polymer format: the trigalight is completely protected by a temperature- and chemical-resistant polymer sleeve with an integrated protective lens. Where the Tactical Insert and NGI use sapphire glass as a separate protective element, the FPI integrates everything into a single polymer body, simplifying assembly and reducing cost while maintaining full NUREG compliance.

The FPI is available with or without a daytime colour ring. The ring effect on ringless variants can be produced by colouring the adhesive used during assembly. It is the highest value insert format — combining simple assembly, full trigalight protection and excellent daytime visibility at an accessible price point.

Construction

Technically advanced polymer sleeve with integrated protective lens. No separate sapphire glass element. The daylight ring — available in orange, white, black and green — is produced as part of the polymer moulding. Ringless variants are also available, with the ring effect achievable via coloured assembly adhesive. Simple assembly process: no specialist tooling required.

Specifications

FPI with day ring: outer diameter 2.5 mm (standard) or 2.0 mm. Ringless FPI: outer diameter 2.0 mm. Both variants: 5.7 mm length. Round cross-section with or without daylight ring. Shock- and temperature-resistant from −55°C to +120°C. NUREG tested.

Colours

Day ring colours: orange, white, black, green. Light source colour: green as standard. The ring effect on ringless variants can be produced by colouring the assembly adhesive — offering additional colour flexibility without moulding changes.

RAI

RAPID ASSEMBLY INSERT — THE FUTURE OF NIGHT SIGHT MANUFACTURING.

The RAI (Rapid Assembly Insert) redefines the economics and sustainability of night sight production. It is the first insert designed specifically around adhesive-free, snap-fit assembly — eliminating the mess, curing time and process variability associated with adhesive-based installation. Installation is up to 40% faster than traditional methods. And when a trigalight reaches the end of its service life, it can be cleanly extracted and replaced using a specialist tool, with all components fully recyclable.

The RAI represents trigalight's commitment to sustainable manufacturing: every element of an RAI-equipped sight has residual value. Metal sights are reused or recycled. Polymer sleeves are melted for reuse. Trigalight glass is processed in trigalight's dedicated recycling facility into glass-luminescent powder, reducing special waste to a minimum.

Assembly Advantage

Adhesive-free snap-fit installation. Up to 40% faster than adhesive-based methods. No curing time. No adhesive variability. No cleaning of adhesive overflow. The specialist removal tool allows clean extraction of the trigalight at end of service life, enabling replacement without sight housing damage. NUREG tested.

Specifications

Outer diameter: 2.5 mm (with day ring) or 2.0 mm (without day ring). Length: 7.25 mm. Round cross-section. Available with or without coloured daylight ring. Day ring colours: orange, white, black, green. Temperature- and chemical-resistant polymer sleeve with integrated protective lens. Shock- and temperature-resistant from −55°C to +120°C.

Sustainability

Full end-of-life recyclability. Metal sight housings: reuse or metal recycling. Polymer sleeve: thermoplastic remelting for new production. Trigalight glass: processed at trigalight's in-house recycling facility into glass-luminescent powder, reducing special waste volume to a minimum. ISO 14001 certified manufacturing.

ECO

THERMOFORMED POLYMER. COST-OPTIMISED. ALWAYS READY.

The ECO Insert is the entry-level insert format in the trigalight range — designed for manufacturers who need reliable night sight performance and clear daytime visibility at the lowest possible integration cost. The trigalight GTLS is encased in a thermoformed polymer sleeve, which provides both physical protection and a coloured day ring that remains clearly visible when the insert is seated in the sight housing. Direct assembly into iron sights. No specialist tooling. No adhesive complexity.

The ECO Insert is compact and short by design, making it compatible with sight housings where space is at a premium. It delivers the same trigalight self-powered luminescence as every other insert in the range — 10+ years, no battery, no maintenance — in the most cost-efficient package we produce.

Construction

The ECO Insert uses a thermoformed polymer sleeve — a production-efficient alternative to machined aluminium or injection-moulded polymer. The sleeve encases the trigalight GTLS and produces a coloured ring at the front face when installed, providing strong daytime contrast and colour identification without any additional surface treatment or painting. Compact and short form factor for space-constrained sight housings. Direct installation into iron sights.

Specifications
