Red dot sights have transformed tactical shooting. They are fast, precise and intuitive — but they share a fundamental vulnerability: they require power. High acceleration forces on pistol slides, impacts, vibrations and dead batteries can impair a red dot's function at any moment. In a critical situation, a dead red dot with no backup is an unacceptable risk.

trigalight provides the solution. By integrating self-powered trigalight illumination directly into the sight housing frame or into removable protective covers, firearms manufacturers can offer their customers a battery-free, always-on fallback that requires no activation, no switching and no additional space. The trigalight is there when the red dot is not.

trigalight® red dot backup solutions are developed and supplied exclusively for firearms manufacturers and optics producers integrating a battery-free backup sight system into a new or existing product. We do not supply red dot backup components to end users or gunsmiths for aftermarket fitting. Every integration — whether in-frame or in-cover — is engineered to the specific tolerances of your firearm platform and optic housing.

We support the full integration process: assessing feasibility for your specific red dot platform, engineering the integration geometry, producing prototypes for evaluation, advising on NUREG compliance and series supply once the design is approved. In-frame integration is designed at the manufacturing stage for new firearms; in-cover solutions can be developed for existing platforms where frame modification is not possible. Both formats can be produced in all standard insert types and colours.

INTEGRATED DIRECTLY INTO THE SIGHT HOUSING.

The most permanent and integrated red dot backup solution: trigalight light sources are integrated directly into the frame or housing of the firearm, running parallel to the red dot optic. This creates a set of iron sight reference points that are always present, always illuminated and completely independent of the red dot's operational status.

If the red dot fails — whether from battery exhaustion, impact damage or electronic malfunction — the shooter immediately has access to a tritium-illuminated iron sight picture without any action required. The trigalight backup is not a secondary mode: it is always visible, always aligned, always ready.

BACKUP BUILT INTO THE PROTECTIVE COVER.

For firearms where frame integration is not possible or preferred, trigalight can be embedded into the removable protective dust cover of the red dot optic. The cover — normally present when the optic is not in use — becomes a functional backup sight the moment it is attached, providing a tritium-illuminated iron sight picture that requires no additional hardware and takes up no additional rail space.

This format is particularly suited to aftermarket and retrofit applications, where the firearm cannot be modified at manufacturing stage. The protective cover with integrated trigalight provides the backup capability without any permanent modification to the weapon system.
